By bridging the gap between direct investment, local resources and talent, STAMP aims to position the region as Texas’ advanced manufacturing epicenter.

South Texas is a vital gateway for energy, trade, logistics, defense innovation and manufacturing. “By aligning regional talent with investment attraction strategies, STAMP’s aim is to evolve the Texas Triangle megaregion into a globally competitive Texas Diamond,” explains Dr. James Li, Director of the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at UTRGV and STAMP Founding Board Member. In its mission to promote South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley as a premier hub for advanced manufacturing, STAMP fosters strategic collaborations with regional economic development offices, academic institutions, workforce development organizations, government offices, trade and industry associations, community stakeholders and investor groups. STAMP focuses on high-impact sectors where South Texas holds a geographic and competitive advantage, including aerospace, aviation and defense, automotive, shipbuilding, consumer electronics, AI-driven automation, value-added agricultural products, energy production, metallurgy and composite material production, water and infrastructure.
